Another accused to join Salakae and co-accused

Another accused person will be added to the ongoing Noah Salakae and co-accused case involving corruption, corrupting a public officer, and money laundering.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Kgosietsile Ngakaagae, told the Regional Magistrate, Mr Mareledi Dipate, during the arraignment of the accused persons in Gaborone today.

Mr Ngakaagae said that when the charge sheet was drafted, the State was still conducting due diligence on whether to charge another person not currently before the court.

“The due diligence has now been completed and a decision has been taken to include him alongside the other accused persons,” he said, adding that the accused would appear in court at the next mention.

He noted that the State would not divulge the name of the accused person in court as he had to be notified through the proper channels.

The accused persons currently before court are Tau Grading, Seby Jose, Hugo Johannes Lamcke, Christian Rudolf Lamcke, Noah Salakae, Kgakgamatso Ketshajwang, and Mompati Sepego.

The charges against the accused persons range from abuse of office, corruption, and corrupting a public officer to money laundering.

The case will be mentioned on October 9.
