US HANDS OVER CRITICAL C-130 SPARE PARTS TO BDF

The US Government has handed over critical C-130 aircraft maintenance spares and ground support equipment to the Botswana Defence Force, following the recent donation of the Hercules C-130 aircraft to Botswana.

The donation is valued at about 40 million pula.

Receiving the donation, Minister of State President, Defence and Security, Moeti Mohwasa says the donation demonstrates how bilateral cooperation continues to translate into practical outcomes in areas of mutual interest.

He notes that this is the second major donation of C-130 maintenance spares received from the United States and will greatly assist the Botswana Defence Force in sustaining the operational availability of its C-130 fleet.

“The C-130 remains an important strategic asset for the BDF, with capabilities extending beyond military airlift to include humanitarian assistance, disaster response, special security operations and other international commitments,” Minister Mohwasa says.
